Rock Garden

Contemporary view of the Rock Garden (called the "Giardino Roccioso")

The "Giardino Roccioso" is a relatively recent addition to the Valentino Park. It was created by landscape architect Giuseppe Ratti for the International Exposition of 1961 (Flor '61). It initially covered an area of 12.000 square meters and includes brooks, paved paths, and terraces. A large rose garden was added in 1965. Today the "Giardino Roccioso" covers an area of 44.000 square meters.
