Description: Marseilles (one of the oldest cities in France) was founded by Greek around 600 BC. During the first half of the 20th century, Marseille celebrated its 'port of the empire' status through the colonial exhibitions of 1906 and 1922 (the city participated to Turin 1911 exhibiting its own pavilion). Now, Marseilles is the second largest city in France, after Paris.
