This postcard presents an allegory of the city Rome and the region of Piedmont. The image, realized by G. Carpanetto, was designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Italian Reign and it shows the allegorical union of Rome (the capital of Italy) and Turin/Piedmont (first capital city of Italy and home to the Italian Royal Family, the House of Savoy). Such as in other illustrations of this kind, the main color are gold (symbol of nobility),and green, red and white (colors of the Italian flag).
