The RECTO of the postcard displays "La Dea Bendata", Fortuna, turining her wheel against a fiery sky. In the background, iconic buildings from Rome (Altare della Patria) and Turin (Mole Antonelliana). on the right of Fortuna, a young girl stretches her hands to, perhaps, grab the winning ticket. The caption reads: "Grande Lotteria Nazionale Italiana a beneficio delle Esposizioni Internazionali di Roma e Torino amministrata dalla Banca d'Italia. Premi per tre milioni - primo premio 1,500,000. Ogni biglietto costa Lire 3 ed e' divisibile in terzi." VERSO: dated August 8, 1912, the postcard was sent to Cagliari (Sardinia) and displays a brief greeting. |
