Pavilion of Serbia

The Pavilion of Serbia was located on the right bank of the river, next to the Pavilion of Siam. It was an extremely fascinating structure, and it contained many elements of design found in Serbian-Byzantine style: the plan was arranged around a single nave, sourmonted by five little cupolas, and the main facade of the building featured elongated arches, shaped by arabesque friezes, painted and in stucco. As seen in other nation - state pavilions, here the architecture aimed to glorify the young and unified Kingdome of Serbia, ruled by Karađorđević dynasty (descendents of the national hero and revolutionary leader Karađorđe Petrović) since 1903.

According to the CTI guide, the Pavilion was built following the project of the engineer Prof. Tanaseric of the University of Belgrade.
